About CircularBlades
CircularBlades – often written «Circular Blades» – is a Swiss upcycling project based in Lucerne. We are developing bus shelters and bike shelters from decommissioned wind turbine blades, complemented by street furniture.
How it started
The idea of reusing decommissioned rotor blades in their existing shape is becoming a sustainable infrastructure project. Marcel Jost and Gabriela Mitasova are developing CircularBlades together. In October 2026, the focus is on concept and validation: municipal discussions, the research project with ZHAW and participation in PLUS – The Regenerative Incubator at Impact Hub Basel. Prototypes and first pilot projects are planned for 2027.
Our mission
Make the circular economy visible. Every CircularBlades object tells the story of its material – with a digital product passport, traceable origin and a transparent CO₂ footprint.
